The Haunted Man
This is a piece is touring in Autumn 2018 and produced by my own company, Kindred Theatre.
Building on from the R&D we did in 2016, this adaptation of the Dickens ghost story is set between two different times, 2018 and 1850 and centres around Jonathan, an elderly man with dementia who is visited by a phantom on Christmas Eve. Jonathan is helped by his young care worker, Asha, using objects and stories to help him find reconciliation.
Asha’s methods are similar to Life Story, a practice of helping those with dementia talk about their lives, which has led us to organise intergenerational storytelling workshops to generate an audio exhibition to tour with the play called Stories, Memories & Moments.
This project is funded by Arts Council England.
You can read more about the production, tour dates and see the trailer on Kindred Theatre’s website.
